What this is
Someone asks you a question. It is a question any AI chatbot would have answered in four seconds. You answer it anyway, because you are a good person, and then they ask another one.
just ask is for that moment. Type the question they asked you, get a short link, and send it back instead of an answer.
What they see
They open the link and watch a cursor wander over to a chat box and type their own question, one slow letter at a time. It presses the button. The AI replies, politely, that it would have been happy to help if they had asked it directly. Then the page hands them buttons for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with the question already filled in, so they do get their answer.
You can attach a screenshot too, for the people who send you a photo of an error message and the word “help”.
Is it mean?
A little. It is the same joke as “let me Google that for you”, updated for the decade. Use it on friends, siblings and coworkers who can take it. The page ends by giving them a button to do it to someone else, which most people find restores their dignity.
How it works
No account, no app. The question (and screenshot, if any) is stored under a random five-character code, and the link stops working after 90 days. Anyone who has the link can see what is in it, so do not put anything private in one. Details are on the privacy page.
Does the AI actually answer?
No. The chat on this site is a puppet show. The real answer comes from whichever real AI they click at the end. That is rather the point.
